My photographs give focus to the landscape through exploring the intimate interactions of our bodies with the land.  We exist within the landscape; we have the power to alter it, but also ruin it. However, the land also changes and affects us.  My photographs explore how the natural forms of the landscape can mirror the curves and shapes of our bodies.

Night Shadows 2014
digital photographs

These three panoramic photographs explore human control over the landscape and the way that we view our natural world.  These photographs were constructed to appear as if they were abstracted nighttime landscapes, but in reality the subject was a bowl of flour.  These photographs not only speak about human influence on the land but also probe the question of simulation and reality.

Intersection 2013

35mm film photographs

This series of film photographs looks at the relationship between people and the landscape through double exposures.  I pushed the boundaries of traditional framing by including more than just a single negative in the image and printed each photograph in long horizontals to contrast the verticality of the lines in the imagery.  The series touches on both the human presence and absence within the landscape in the attempts to provoke questions regarding our relationships with the land.
